Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education, established in 1910, is under the purview of the Department of Education Government of Tamil Nadu, India.. The Government of Tamil Nadu have constituted a new Board for School Examination viz “Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination” by merging the existing two separate boards (1) Board of Secondary Education and (2) Board of Higher Secondary Examinations vide G.O.1(D) No. 142 School Education(V1) Department Dated 9-8-2002.Up to and ending at the secondary (class 10) level, the following streams of education are offered: the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) stream, the Anglo-Indian stream, the Oriental School Leaving Certificate (OSLC) stream and the Matriculation stream.
