Ajith Kumar’s ‘Mankatha’ was into certain speculations as there were rumors of project being dropped. Now, we hear it straight from the shoulders of producers Dayanidhi Azhagiri and Vivek Karunakaran, to have confirmed the film’s release on May 1 for the occasion of Ajith Kumar’s birthday.

The ‘Thala’ fans were patently disappointed on hearing the news that the project is shelved due to financial constraints. But with such official confirmations, they have revived their celebrations.
Couple of schedules has been completed in Chennai and Bangkok. At the moment, the third schedule is going fast on floors at the huge sets of Mumbai slum Dharavi in three different locations.
It looks like Venkat Prabhu wants to utilize World Cup 2011 to influence ‘Mankatha’ as the film is touted to be a crime-thriller set in backdrops of IPL season.
