Sony officially announced the launch of NEX-3 and NEX-5 in India.Claimed to be the world's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens digital cameras, the NEX-3 and NEX-5 are expected to deliver D-SLR level quality in an ultra compact body. Both cameras come with a 14.2 MP sensor, a tiltable 3-inch LCD viewfinder and a 3D Sweep Panaroma mode.The SEL1855 zoom lens comes as a part of the standard bundle along with a detachable flash and a 4 GB memory card.The main difference between the the two is that the NEX-5 supports a 1080i video recording while the NEX-3 supports a 1280x720 (720p) video recording mode.
The users can now choose from dedicated E-mount lens for wide-angle, standard zoom, high power zoom shooting, and optional ultra-wide angle and fisheye converters. Plus, an optional mount adapter lets you use the full range of Sony system A-mount lens, including the digital SLR lens lineup.The price for NEX-3 is about Rs. 29,990 and Rs. 34,990 for the NEX-5.
