About WBBSE

The Board of Secondary Education was established in 1951 under an Act of the State Legislature called   the West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The Board was subsequently renamed    as West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1964, under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Act 1963. During its long history the Board was superseded by the State Govt. twice.

Applicants to the posts bearing post code number 1,4,5,7,8,9&10 must enclose with their application a fee of Rs.160/- (Rupees one hundred and sixty) only and applicants to the posts bearing post code number 2,3,6 & 11 must enclose with their application a fee of Rs.110/- (Rupees one hundred and ten) only by Bank Draft, which MUST BE PURCHASED FROM ANY NATIONALISED BANK ON A DATE AFTER PUBLICATION OF THIS ADVERTISEMENT, in favour of “RBI Kolkata A/C. West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Fund”. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. Candidates belonging to S.C./S.T. of West Bengal and persons with disabilities specified under Persons with Disabilities Rules, 1999 are required to pay fifty percent of the prescribed fee only. The application of such candidates will not be accepted if the same is not accompanied with the attested copy of S.C./S.T./Persons with Disabilities certificate. Such reduction of fees is, however, not applicable to any O.B.C. candidate. No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination.

Written Examination

1.      Candidate who qualify in Physical Efficiency Test(PET) will be called for the written examination.

2.      The written examination for 100 marks will consist of 100 questions to be answered in 120 minutes.

3.      The question paper will be on general awareness/general knowledge, knowledge of elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test the basic knowledge of the candidate in Hindi/English. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English.

Sequence of Recruitment

1.      Registration: Candidates can report on any day between 06-12-2010 to 13-12-2010 for registration except 12-12-2010 (Sunday).

2.      Commencement: Recruitment activities will start from 07-12-2010. The candidates who register will be allotted Roll No. and given a date and time for reporting for various activities. They should report on the given date and time at the recruitment venue.

OBC candidates have to submit postal order for Rs.50/- drawn in favour of AC/DDO CISF NZ HQrs New Delhi payable at GPO New Delhi as Examination fee. SC/ST candidates are exempted from examination fee.AS such SC/ST candidates need not submit any postal order.
