The movie’s initial promos were shot in Chennai and was supposed to have continued with Mumbai schedule but unfortunately, it has been finally shelved. The director has finally made up his mind to drop the idea of the remake for now, as the lead actor Prateik Babbar has walked out of the film.
According to reports, Prateik Babbar was not happy with the way things have changed since he agreed to act in the film. The Hindi version had the hero playing a Punjabi guy, who falls in love with a British girl, and goes all over Europe in search of her.
Gautham Vasudev Menon has been facing the problems from the day he announced Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya remake. First, he had signed Trisha Krishnan, but later roped in Amy Jackson to play a British girl, to suit the Hindi audience and the changed script.
However, the director finally dropped the project and decided to concentrate on his other movies. Now, he is gearing for his next releases Nadunisi Naaygal and Veppam his production venture. He has also purchased the music rights of Kanden, which has Shanthanoo Bhagyaraj in the lead. Reports also claimed that he has revived the movie project Chennayil Oru Mazhaikalam and is also to start a movie with Surya and Amy Jackson separately for Thuppariyum Anand.
Lets hope everything goes for the best for Gautham!
